London Wide - Great Mental Health Day!

Friday 30th Jan  - we are really proud of our first cohort of Mental First Aiders who received their Level 2 (GCSE level) Certificates in Assembly this week. Thank you to Ms Dada for overseeing this.

The course covered a  selection of content included in the qualifications:

  •        Social and self-stigma

•             The Mental Health Continuum

•             What we can do to support our own mental health on a daily basis

•             Causes of stress

•             Depression and anxiety

•             Asking for help

This is part of our continued focus on the personal development of our students (and staff who also undertook the qualification alongside them)  on how we can further embed positive practice into our school.

This year's theme for London's Great Mental Health day is 'Celebrating Everyday Spaces’ – the community halls, cafés, libraries, clubs, green spaces, faith centres and schools which provide connection, belonging and trust.

Our School is where support often begins, long before someone reaches a service. They’re the quiet but powerful spaces where people feel safe enough to say, “I need help.”

With this cohort, we see a practical application of this. We are looking forward to sharing updates with you.
