Mental Health Week 'Lived experiences heard'
World Mental Health Day was first celebrated in 10th October 1992 and since then people all over the world commemorate this day. The aim is to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world. It also advocates to remove any negative social stigma around mental health. Green is the colour used for the awareness of mental health.
Our mental health affects how you feel, think and act. It refers to our emotional, psychological and social wellbeing. Our mental health can change on a daily basis and over time, and can be affected by a range of factors.
Last year, 40 students and 3 members of staff undertook a mental health training qualification. This was to support students having the language and strategies to support themselves and each other navigating the sometimes challenging wellbeing that occurs during school.
Tutors and DoLs will be leading sessions around mental health for all students. Students also have a page of support signposted in their planners. Students and parents can also access information from our website /212/student-well-being
