Dawn Ferdinand Chair of Governors

Ms Ferdinand joined the GB as Chair in Oct 2024 after being voted in.

Ms Ferdinand has been a critical part of the Haringey education landscape for many years as the Headteacher of The Willow Primary School and Broadwaters Children’s Centre in Broadwater Farm, Tottenham. As Headteacher at these institutions, she has transformed both organisations, taking them to successive ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted gradings. Beyond her school roles, Dawn serves as a school improvement partner, supporting headteachers in enhancing their schools, and has mentored many teachers to headship. Her tireless commitment extends to supporting vulnerable and socially disadvantaged groups, evident in her co-founding of numerous organisations dedicated to their advancement. Dawn’s legacy resonates in her relentless pursuit of educational equity and empowerment, impacting not only her immediate community, but education at local and national levels. Ms Ferdinand joins the school at an exciting and challenging time with new plans in place to continue to refine its excellent offer to students, significant engagement with the DFE at a strategic level and a rebuilding of key partnerships within the school
