The school has been working hard on ensuring students have the right communication and tools to support respectful debate between communities against a challenging international humanitarian backdrop

We recognise that communities struggle when they do not have the safe space to share their ideas and views in a safe and respectful manner. Our partnership with  'Stand Up Education' has developed to counteract language and ideas that seek to magnify difference when there is much to hold our communities together.

Today we welcomed London Mayor Sadiq Khan, Sophie Linden, Deputy Mayor for Policing, Leader of the Council Peray Ahmet, Councillor Zena Brabazon and Director of Childrens Services Ann Graham to see 'Stand Up Education' support students to counteract harmful stereotypes, Islamaphobia and Anti-Semitism.

Our students in year 11 were fantastic - politically aware, respectful, challenged and challenging! Thank you Jodie, Hamza and Dean who facilitated the sessions. It gave the school the opportunity to share the ideas and views of our students and to conisder the language we use in discussion.

The Mayor of London supports programmes like this and we were delighted to share its impact with him and the wider team in Haringey.
