We are celebrating the talents and teamwork of more than 150 students in its production of High School Musical, performed on 14 and 15 October. Our final licenced performance takes place this evening, bringing its school community together around a story of self-expression, friendship and challenging expectations.

Students are involved both on stage and behind the scenes, with rehearsals and preparations taking place during lunch breaks and after school since last academic year!  The production celebrates the idea that everyone should have the chance to find their voice and be themselves.

The musical follows Troy, captain of East High’s basketball team, and Gabriella, a brainy new student he met on a ski trip. When they decide to audition for the school musical, their choice unsettles the school’s cliques—but may also encourage other students to step forward and shine. An important message!

Headteacher Ms Rahelu said, ‘Star power is clearly on show with Maja, Sparrow and Ema leading an amazingly talented group of students. I was incredibly proud of every single student involved!'

The production has been led by Ms Bernard, Ms Munson and Ms Jamerah, whose work has helped broaden students’ experiences through the performing arts. We would also like to thank our brilliant HSA team for providing refreshments and supporting the cast, as well as everyone who has attended and encouraged the students.

With more than 150 students contributing across the production, the show is a celebration of collaboration and community as much as performance. The final performance on 15 October gives audiences one last chance to see the students bring the story to life.
