Personal Development Away day - Yr 7
Year 7 students build confidence and teamwork through outdoor adventure
Year 7 students took part in a team-building day on Monday 12 October, immersing themselves in nature and tackling a range of outdoor activities. The experience was designed to help students develop personal skills, build relationships and make lasting memories. Students worked in different groups, giving them opportunities to communicate, support one another and take on new challenges in an outdoor setting.
Ms Sanzari, Pastoral lead year 7, said, 'What a brilliant opportunity for the students. They were all so involved all day! From the opening hike from the station - They really did give 100% and you couldn't ask for more!'
Outdoor learning experiences such as these are designed to combine fun with hands-on learning. Itineraries encourage resilience, teamwork and self-confidence, while giving children and young people the chance to engage with activities beyond the classroom. .
For the Year 7 students, the shared challenges of the day provided a chance to try unfamiliar activities and contribute to a group. The combination of walking, woodland exploration and high-wire experiences kept students involved throughout the programme.
The team-building day formed part of the school’s provision for its Year 7 students, supporting their personal development as they settle into secondary education.
We hope the students will carry the confidence, resilience and sense of teamwork gained during the day into their learning and relationships throughout the year.
