Dziakujà Poland! Travellers return!
The students had a truly unforgettable experience - having a Social Sciences lesson at a Cracow International School, as well as spending some time truly understanding the context of their study into crime, deviance and society by taking tours to Auschwitz-Birkenau and the Schindler factory. Over 3 jam-packed days, students experienced the wonders of Polish hospitality, as well as the darker side of human nature.
Their tour took in important original camp buildings at Auschwitz II-Birkenau: prisoner barracks, the unloading platform (ramp), and the ruins of gas chamber and crematoria II or III, a river tour and explored the old town at their leisure. On the final day students had a tour of Oskar Schindler's Enamel Factory.
To keep things interesting, the trip home was an adventure all of its own - our thanks to parents for their understanding and flexibility in collecting students from Finsbury Park. Thank you to Ms McDermott for organising the trip, Ms White and Mr Lucas for supporting.
