Our Offer closed in September 2019 to new students
We offered a wide range of courses* at HSC, reflecting the diversity of our students, providing choice and enabling them to pursue their future pathways. Our subjects are delivered by a specialist team of teachers who have studied at top universities, some of whom are also examiners writing and assessing A Level examinations.
We support our students to develop high level academic skills and encourage academic and personal independence as well as developing the key personal qualities of enquiry and resilience.
Teachers really support and encourage you to pursue a career you will enjoy. With the support I’ve received I gained the confidence to apply for Cambridge University.
95% of our students go on to their first choice university, many to Russell Group institutions, studying a wide range of subjects from Medicine to Law and International Relations to Fashion.
Success looks different for each student, and we support everyone who wants to choose alternative pathways through Further Education, apprenticeships and employment. Each student is assisted to make the right choices for their future through a work experience placement and one-to-one support from a personal academic tutor throughout the duration of their studies.
Personal Careers Development (PCD)
As part of the College curriculum, all students take part in a fortnightly timetabled tutorial session called PCD. This is an opportunity for students’ personal tutor to support them in all aspects of their personal and professional development.
PCD also gives students the opportunity to participate in activities with other members of their year group, supporting their spiritual, moral, social and cultural development. PCD enables students to think about and prepare for their futures with sessions covering topics such as careers guidance, UCAS and personal finance. Student feedback has continuously confirmed that PCD is an invaluable part of being a student at such a supportive college.
