Welcome from the Headteacher

Dear Parents, Carers, Students and Visitors,

I am delighted to welcome you to the website for Hornsey Schools for Girls, a high performing school since its inception in 1887. We were the highest performing school for progress in Haringey in 2017/2018 and consistently perform in the top 20% of schools nationally. We are one of the best schools in the borough and our students and outcomes prove this year on year.  I am proud to represent the staff and students of Hornsey, a school that really embodies the unlimited ambitions we have for your daughter.

Hornsey School for Girls is a dynamic and exciting learning environment with creative teaching and learning as the norm. We are a unique school in Haringey, and therefore uniquely placed to ensure that your daughter achieves her potential.

Our students are bright, articulate and intellectually curious about the world we live in. They are committed to social justice and their interest in society is supported by a broad curriculum which allows them avenues to flourish, explore their passions and experience the diversity of the world around them. We promote a creative approach, and we have excellent facilities for dance, drama, music and the discipline these subjects bring to your child. Our values are rooted firmly in the community and we encourage links with local groups, businesses and events. If you’ve seen our students perform across the borough, you will know that excellence is an expectation and this is clear in everything we do – be it the steel pans or academic or charitable endeavours.

Our student exam results remain consistently above national averages and we continue to develop confident students who go out in the world with the security that only a strong education can provide. Our last Ofsted was in March 2022, with the school rated as Good in all aspects, the report can be found on the Ofsted section of our website.

We encourage visits from potential students and their families. Please telephone the school to make an appointment. You will find a wealth of information about the School on the website, but do not hesitate to contact us if you would like any further information.
