It takes a village to raise a child...

This week I am really proud to share with you the Ofsted letter (the link is at the bottom of the blog) following our inspection visit in March. I’m delighted that the school strengths were explicit to the inspection team; there is much to be pleased of in the school as the report makes clear throughout. The report is the result of all within the school community working together - it takes a village to raise a child, it always has done.

However, the flip side of having such close examination of one’s day to day practice also allows us the opportunity to recognise where it is we need to continue our development, and what it will take for us to get to the next stages for the school. School staff, governors and leaders are genuinely not complacent. This report highlights where we are, but as ever, we always have where we are going to in mind. Our ambitions for each and every student remain the fuel that keeps us going – we have come far and there’s more ground to cover as we refine further our offer to our students and community.

For year 11 parents, please can I ask that you visit the exams information page regularly over the next few weeks. We will be updating the information and advice on it early next week. It already has the exam schedules on it for both year 11 and the 6th form. We will be hosting a short evening event in the next 2 weeks for year 11 parents who (I imagine) are only too keenly aware of the changing demands on their daughters as the exams continue to march ever nearer. We are balancing the needs of the exam season with a strong focus on student wellbeing and I hope this will come across in the next few weeks.

Thank you to all parents who contributed to the inspection by completing the parent view surveys. Its amazing when a community school is exactly that  - what a privilege to represent the school at this time.
