Following a short inspection in March, the school retained its Good status and was lauded across all categories.

Inspectors praised the strong leadership, high quality teaching and learning, ambitious and aspirational students, and committed staff.

    Among the highlights,

Ofsted said the following: “The leadership team share the vision and values of the school and its students … successfully establishing a creative learning community where both staff and students can thrive.”

The range of support the school provides is impressive and has had a marked impact on individual students. The school offers opportunities in abundance for students…”

The large school site provides excellent sporting facilities and a vibrant library where students can extend their love of reading.”

“Pupils throughout the school enjoy the nurturing and safe learning community that you have created"

Students have high ambitions and work hard to achieve them. They are genuinely interested in their studies and consequently, enjoy working hard.”

Ofsted also had strong praise for Hornsey Sixth Form College: “Strong leadership ensures that the vision of excellence, drive, graduate and enrich permeates the sixth form.”

We would like to commend our students, families, staff and governing body for everything that has been achieved here at Hornsey School for Girls. These strong partnerships are critical to our continued development. We are delighted that the report has truly captured and reflected the reality of our school and what we know is an excellent learning environment.

As the Headteacher, Ms Rahelu is delighted to be leading this unique school to even more success as we ensure every young person continues to succeed within a culture of high aspirations. She said "I am particularly proud that our students embody our vision, ethos and values as witnessed by inspectors who commented on their “mature behaviour and the mutual respect, tolerance and courtesy they show to each other and to staff”

As the Chair of Governors, Ms Yiannoullou would like to congratulate Ms Rahelu, senior leaders and all staff, students and their families on what we continue to achieve at this forward thinking and ambitious school. The community feel and the high expectations that have been set by staff and senior leaders has been recognised and praised – this school is a beacon of excellence and we look forward to continued success as our young people continue to learn and flourish as they go on to lead successful lives and careers.
